Single on Valentine’s Day? No Problem! 10 Self Care Valentine’s Day Tips : 2020 Edition

Ahhh, so it’s that time of year again. The most dreaded or most anticipated day of the year! It’s “Lovers Day” and most have mixed feelings about it. Either you love it or you hate it but I’m here to tell you a secret. It’s totally not that serious. Like at all. Valentine’s Day is just another day to share with that special “one”. But what if you don’t have a special someone? First, let me say YOU ARE THAT SPECIAL SOMEONE. Before you proclaim to love anyone else in this world you should always love yourself. If that’s not enough to pump you up on Valentine’s day then you’re in luck because below I’ve listed 10 tips to get you up off the couch and into yourself on this special day. After all, you have someone to celebrate… and that’s yourself!

  1. Send Yourself Flowers

Because who doesn’t love white roses? I mean, I do! You don’t have to wait for flowers to be delivered to you. Send them to yourself! This should actually be done pretty regularly whether you’re single or not. Stop by your local grocery store and get the most beautiful ones you see!

2. Pour Yourself a Glass of Wine and relax

Nothing is more relaxing than a wine glass of wine. Red is my preference but white works just as well! Pour you up a glass (or more) light some candles, put on some relaxing music and simply enjoy the peace and serenity of being with yourself.

3. Throw a Single’s Only Dinner Party

You might as well round up all your single friends, tell them to bring food and drinks and call it a night. If you’re one of those people who don’t particularly like being “alone” on this day then this might actually be a great idea. You’ll probably end up forgetting it’s even a holiday!

4. Make it a Spa Day

You can either go out and have an official spa day or you can stay home and “treat yo self”. This doesn’t require much and you’ll feel so relaxed afterward!

5. Take off and go on a Self Care Vacation

Let everyone enjoy the holiday traffic and crowds while you’re laid out on the beach not thinking about any of it. Take some time off or even just a day and GET AWAY!

6. Take yourself to dinner

Now, this is a bold one and I wouldn’t advise it for the faint of heart on Valentine’s Day but if you’re up for the challenge then be my guest! Taking yourself to dinner on Valentine’s Day can be so empowering!

7. Wear something festive

Put on your most sexy red dress and own it! You can wear it in the house or go out in public completely dressed for the occasion!

8. Take yourself on a shopping spree

You know those jeans you’ve been eyeing for a few months now? Yea, those… Go on and get them! Throw in those heels that would complete the look as well while you’re at it!

9. Take that workout class you’ve been putting off

Go on and sweat it out! Sign up for a yoga, cycling or dance class and get your healthy on. I’m sure you won’t be the only one in there so go work it out!

10. Do whatever you want to do and celebrate yourself doing it

Go to sleep, watch a movie, catch up on some comedy, read a good book, cook a good meal. Literally do whatever you want and celebrate YOU putting YOURSELF first on this day!
